Elon Musk Release Grok 4, Days After Suspending Antisemitic AI
Elon Musk's AI company, xAI, has launched Grok 4, a cutting-edge chatbot that's part of a premium AI tool designed for advanced users. This latest version boasts significant improvements in reasoning and complex idea engagement, with Musk claiming it's "postgraduate, like PhD level, in everything".

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, has officially launched the latest version of its chatbot, Grok 4, during a livestream event hosted on X (formerly Twitter). This launch took place shortly after the company faced backlash over several offensive and antisemitic responses made by previous versions of Grok, which have since been deleted.
The launch happened on a livestream with the xAI members and Musk himself. At the launch event, Musk, along with the xAI team, showcased Grok 4’s capabilities and emphasized its significant improvements. “We’ve run out of test questions to ask,” Musk said, showing the chatbot’s enhanced ability to reason and engage with complex ideas. “Reality is the ultimate reasoning test,” he added.
Musk went further by suggesting that Grok 4 may eventually be capable of groundbreaking technological and scientific discoveries. He also predicted that by the end of 2025, AI could potentially begin developing new technologies, and within two years, it might even explore new concepts in physics. He ended his announcement with the now-famous phrase, “Let that sink in.”
Grok 4 Launch Details
Grok 4 is being positioned as a premium AI tool, designed for users who require more than just fundamental question-and-answer interactions. It is now available under a new subscription model on X, costing $300 per month as part of a “Pro” package. This plan grants access to Grok 4’s most advanced features, which Musk claims include the ability to handle highly technical topics and offer solutions beyond what typical AI models provide.
Describing the new version’s performance, Musk boldly claimed, “Grok 4 is postgraduate, like PhD level, in everything. Better than a PhD, no exceptions.”
He acknowledged that while the chatbot may occasionally miss specific social or common-sense cues, its command of academic and technical knowledge surpasses that of most experts. “Most PhDs would fail where Grok 4 would pass,” Musk added, reinforcing his belief in the AI’s academic prowess.
The CEO further shared a post on X promoting Grok 4’s functionality in handling source code. He encouraged developers to paste entire code files directly into Grok 4, which would then debug or fix the code automatically. He claims it is what AI users do, and it works.
